III Final Workshop
(9th-10th July 2021)
Villa Dondi Dell’Orologio, Bosco di Rubano (PD) & Propileo di Porta Portello a Padova
The Researching Movie Cultural Association presents the final phase of the “River College Virtual Reality” born from a suggestion, to find, in the present, an imagination’s bridge that can put in communication past and future. At one end of this bridge there is Padua, a treasure chest of knowledge and beauty, with its frescoes of the fourteenth century, nominated for the inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage list; at the other end, there is the most innovative and engaging film technology of the moment, Virtual Reality. First, the participants will be introduced in the final phase of Post production and Distribution of the movie “GIOTTO Beyond Borders” in Virtual Reality: it will examine the different artistic souls and the increasing diffusion also in the context of the enhancement of the landscape and cultural heritage, as well as the peculiar form of narrative language that determines its use in cinema. Our choice fell on Giotto, the greatest innovator and revolutionary painter of the thirteenth century. The first one to depict the spatiality of the scene at 360,” making it topical and alive, incorporating the feelings and emotions. In the absence of reference models, we consider it essential to deepen the topics proposed, to undertake in the best way this fascinating adventure.
The project “River College Virtual Reality” has the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Padova and Rovigo as part of the Cultural Call 2017, the patronage of Padua’s Municipality of and the collaboration of the Department of Culture and the University of Padua.
