BAFTA Qualifying ASFF 2016 Opens This Week: 3-6 November, York

November 2, 2016/0 Comments/in RiFF Blog /by Emilio Della Chiesa

BAFTA Qualifying ASFF 2016 opens this week, running 3-6 November in 18 venues across York. The festival celebrates its sixth anniversary with the biggest programme to date, including over 400 films in competition, industry led masterclasses, networking sessions and Showcase Screenings celebrating fresh talent from some of the UK’s leading cultural institutions.

ASFF is a festival of discovery, and invites attendees to experience the breadth and diversity of short film in 11 genres, such as drama, documentary, fashion, music video, animation, artists’ film, experimental and more. There are also Family Friendly Screenings and Cinema Bambino – a place for adults with babies to relax and enjoy great film.

For those looking to promote their films, connect with industry and build their contacts list, there are many networking opportunities. Meet the Film Festivals Marketplace is a tradeshow with over 20 programmers, enabling filmmakers the chance to find out exactly what they are looking for.

The Masterclass Series has something for everyone, and explores topics such as cinematography, programming a film festival, funding, festival strategies, gaming and special effects. Speakers include representatives from Industrial, Light & Magic, BBC, Jagex and Festival Formula.
